18th European Regional ITS Conference
Istanbul, Turkey 2-4 September, 2007
Call for Papers
Telecommunication markets are continuing to grow at a rapid pace.
However, this growth is associated with important challenges for company managers, policy makers, regulators and researchers alike.
The 18th European Regional ITS Conference will focus on the most pressing developments and stimulate discussions on how to enhance research approaches, policy making, laws and regulation in order to improve market performance and consumer welfare.
ITS would like to invite you to submit an abstract for a paper to be
presented at the ITS Conference in Istanbul.
The following topics might be of interest (among others):
1.The Regulatory Framework and its Revision: critical perspectives on
market analysis, harmonising policies and institutions
2.The future of infrastructure competition: next generation, IP based
networks, vertical separation and consolidation
3.Internationalisation of markets: international consolidation, domestic
and global implications, effects on regulatory policy
4.Broadband: the demand side
5.Internet: regulation of content and media, historical parallels and
lessons
6.Mobile trends: spectrum management, convergence, alternative to last
mile (WIMAX etc), interconnection
7.Country studies: what should late liberalizers learn from the mature
liberalization experiments?
Special Session: The telecommunications market in Turkey
8.Other important trends and possible topics: Google and its competitors,
media, innovating regulatory policy
The list of topics presented here shall stimulate contributions. Other
suggestions are welcome.

Please send an extended abstract to:

no later than March 1, 2007.
Abstracts should be about 2 pages long (800 – 1000 words) and contain
the following information: a research question, some remarks on
methodology, expected results, bibliographical notes
